Church Promise

日本バプテスト同盟信仰宣言 わたしたちは、世界のバプテストの遺産や日本のバプテストの伝統を尊重しつつ、「日本バプテスト同盟信仰宣言」を表明します。

　わたしたちは、聖書を信仰と生活の唯一の基準とします。聖書が証言している三位一体の神を信じます。この神の上に立ついかなる権威も認めません。 イエス･キリストはわたしたちの主です。キリストは十字架の死と復活によって、わたしたちの罪を赦し、永遠の命にいたる道を開いてくださいました。 わたしたちは、教会を信仰によって新たに生まれた者の集まりと信じ、信徒の平等と良心の自由を大切にします。そして、それぞれの教会の自主性を重んじながら互いの連帯を深めます。バプテスマと聖餐を教会の礼典とし、信仰告白に基づく浸めのバプテスマを行ないます。 わたしたちは、神に創られた世界が正しく保たれるように努めます。また、神の支配と正義の実現のために仕え、祈ります。そして主が再び来られることを待ち望みつつ、みことばと聖霊の導きを求め、キリストに連なるすべての人々と共に、福音宣教に励みます。

We take the Bible as the sole standard for our faith and life. We believe in the Triune God, as testified to in the Bible. We do not recognize any authority above this God. Jesus Christ is our Lord. Through his death on the cross and resurrection, Christ has forgiven our sins and opened the way to eternal life. We believe the church is a gathering of those who are born again through faith and value the equality and freedom of conscience of believers. We respect the autonomy of each church while deepening solidarity with each other. We recognize baptism and the sacraments of the church and perform baptism by immersion based on confession of faith. We strive to maintain the righteousness of the world created by God. We serve and pray for the realization of God's rule and justice. As we await the Lord's return, we seek the guidance of God's Word and the Holy Spirit and work diligently to spread the gospel together with all those who are united in Christ.

　日本バプテスト同盟は、それぞれの教会の自主独立を尊重しつつ、連合体を形成しています。したがって、この「信仰宣言」はその教会の自主性を制限するためのものではありません。むしろ、それぞれの教会が主体的にこの「信仰宣言」を共有することによって、日本バプテスト同盟がどのような立場に立ち何を目指しているのかを確認し合い、互いの交わりが一層深められることを願うものです。
